The way the graduate programme has been structured allows graduates the opportunity to become familiar with a wide range of different teams. The experience gathered from this means that the transition to a permanent position within the company is easier to achieve.
Powerco promotes many social responsibility events, such as some fundraising events, road safety week, domestic violence support, teaching events in schools, and etc.
It seems that Powerco is open to diversity. Powerco pick the people most suitable for the job which is clearly open to all based on the people employed here right now.
Assisting engineers with various tasks and projects they are working on whilst being given the opportunity to run my own projects. At work I use a lot of different engineering software and applications, develop and run a variety of different models and I am also given the chance to go out in the field.
The managers are extremely helpful and are always looking out for my best interests. I constantly have regular meetings with both my manager and mentor to check on how I am going and any advice I may need.
The office space in New Plymouth is large and comfortable with a variety of desk spaces suited to the way you like to work. There is plenty of parking across the grounds with commutes not taking long at all given the limited amount of traffic in the area. With a number of different eating areas be it inside or out on the deck there is plenty of spaces to eat and socialize. The dress code is semi formal with casual Fridays and shorts in summer.
Both the pay and bonuses I have received at this point are a fair reflection of where i am at in my career and the progression that I have made. By performing well the pay increases rather quickly.
I have been apart of a number of different training programmes be it health and safety workshops, software and how to use them and getting to go on a variety of courses and conference to help increase my engineering knowledge.
